The company was established on August 31, 1998.

On June 12, 2003, the company was restructured as a limited liability company and renamed as Jiangsu Dongguang Microelectronics Co., Ltd.

In December 2005, China Belgium Direct Equity Investment Fund (referred to as "Zhongbi Fund"), as a new investor, increased its capital to the company.

In August 2007, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Information Industry, the General Administration of Customs, and the State Administration of Taxation jointly evaluated the company as one of the first batch of integrated circuit enterprises encouraged by the state.

In September 2008, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Finance, Jiangsu Provincial State Taxation Bureau, and Jiangsu Provincial Local Taxation Bureau jointly evaluated the company as a "high-tech enterprise".

In December 2009, the company established a wholly-owned subsidiary - Yixing Dongchen Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.

On November 18, 2010, the company was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange with stock code 002504 and stock abbreviation: Dongguang Microelectronics.

In February 2012, the company established a controlling subsidiary - Jiangsu Dongguang Electronics Co., Ltd. Its business scope includes technology research and development, manufacturing, sales, and technical consulting services for electronic components and products.

In July 2012, the company became the controlling shareholder of Zhejiang Changxing Electronics Factory Co., Ltd., holding 56% of its equity.

In September 2012, the company established a strategic cooperation with the Chinese consulting industry leader, Peking University Zongheng Management Consulting Group, to enhance the company's core competitiveness for sustainable development through consulting on "strategic breakthroughs and value chain capability enhancement".

In October 2012, the company acquired 100% equity of Wuxi Xunchi Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. Its business scope includes research, development, manufacturing, and sales of electronic products, communication products, computer software and hardware, optoelectronic integrated products, switching power supplies, and LED drive power supplies; Sales of general mechanical equipment, instruments and meters, hardware and electrical equipment, metal materials, wires and cables.

In September 2014, the company implemented a major asset restructuring and was approved by the China Securities Regulatory Commission. Jiangsu Dongguang Microelectronics Co., Ltd. will transfer its overall investment to Yixing Dongchen Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. All business matters will be executed by Yixing Dongchen Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.

In June 2015, Yixing Dongchen Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. was renamed as Jiangsu Dongchen Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.

In 2020, Jiangsu Dongchen Company acquired 100% equity of Zhejiang Changxing Electronics Factory Co., Ltd. and established a Shenzhen subsidiary in October of the same year.

In 2021, Jiangsu Dongchen chip workshop and Changxing electronic electroplating line completed expansion and efficiency enhancement.
